Kung Fu Team

 2012 – 2013 Kung Fu Team

 

Kung Fu Team Objective:  

Develop extraordinary Kung-Fu skills through superior instruction and dedicated learning. 

Eligibility/Requirements:  

1.  Age: 7-14 years old

2.  Belt level: Yellow/black belt up

3.  Total 12 members

4.  Full time, High-standard seeking students

5.  Agree to six hours of instruction per week.

6.  Participation in two competitions per year, beginning with domestic

tournaments and potentially including international tournaments.

What Is Kung Fu Team?

Team is a subset of Pure ShaoLin Kung Fu Academy that specially trains for competitions and works harder to generally improve Kung Fu skills.  The philosophy involved in Kung Fu  will help our team members throughout life to learn “living wisdom”. In traditional Kung Fu , as in virtually all Chinese martial arts, there are both physical and mental aspects of training, so Kung Fu team’s  philosophy bases all instructions on achieving balance of our body, mind, and spirit .

Our Kung Fu Team program customize that each student possesses different physical abilities.  Size and strength vary with each individual.  Once a student has acquired a strong foundation in the basics, our program will progress and enhance the member’s physical capabilities and maximize his/her self-defense skills.

In our team training is not interested in limiting ourselves to just teaching self-defense. Kung Fu Team, as a certified instructor remains interested in the complete personal development of each student.  Individual attention is a feature of each and every class, allowing all students to progress quickly and confidently toward their personal goals.  Our Master takes his responsibility as a role model for younger students seriously, teaching them the importance of strong character, leadership and good values.

The teaching curriculum at Kung Fu Team is based on two concepts: “positive mental attitude” and “high goal setting.” Kung Fu Team is so positive about this program that we promises to give students and their families the most professional, well supervised, and  highest quality classes available in any sport of our martial art.

Also, members of Kung Fu team will be Pure ShaoLin Kung Fu Academy’s AMBASSADORS. The members will show high quality Kung Fu skills and a healthy personality in their life.

 

Kung Fu Team’s goals will be to provide our team members with an opportunity to: 

  1. Promote the awareness of offensive and defensive maneuvers designed for surviving a combat situation.
  2. Recognize and deep understand Kung Fu techniques that is the way of harmonious spirit in nature.
  3. Polish Kung Fu Skills that is the way of unifying with life energy.
  4. Broaden Kung Fu knowledge to increase Chinese martial arts traditions and culture.
  5. customize the forms for each team member based on his or her personality, stature, interest, strength and speed.
  6. Build a strong relationship with your partner. Every team member will have same partner to enhance sparring skills.

What team members will be learning on the Kung Fu Team:

  1. Step by Step to achieve Pure ShaoLin Kung Fu academy Black belt system.
  2. Specific techniques in ground tumbling boxing, falls, rolls, throws and aerial acrobatics.
  3. A barehanded form for their own special form to totally fit team member own physically and mentally.
  4. A weapon form for their own special form to totally fit team member own physically and mentally.
  5. A Barehanded sparring form with your partner.
  6. A weapon sparring form with your partner.
  7. Sanda – a modern fighting method and sport influenced by Chinese boxing, Chinese wresting methods (Shuai Qiao) and Chinese self defense techniques (Chin Na).

 

The Eight Wisdom of Kung Fu will show on our team members: 

Team members at Pure ShaoLin Kung Fu Academy are also taught ‘The Eight Wisdoms of Kung Fu’ and these are listed on a banner as a reminder during classes. These include:

  1. Respect – be polite, show consideration to others and be respectful of teachers, students, people and members of other .
  2. Loyalty – show faithfulness to those around, stay constructive when dealing with difficult issues and treat team members as brothers and sisters.
  3. Tolerance – permit others to be different from you, with their own beliefs and opinions. Keep an open mind. This is not about ‘putting up with people’ but appreciating differences.
  4. Perseverance – be persistent and don’t give up. In the end this brings results. As the tablet by the club altar reads, “100 perseverances leads to success”’. If something is hard, constant practice will bring your reward.
  5. Patience – recognize that it takes time to learn anything worth learning. It is important to build a firm foundation before moving to the next skill.
  6. Dignity – conduct oneself with dignity in order to earn the respect of others and feel a sense of self-respect.
  7. Humility – be humble. Recognize that however much we know, there is still much more that can be learned. In other words, retain a ‘beginners mind’.
  8. Honor – show personal integrity. Stay by your moral principles and live by example. Another aspect is holding others in high regard and thus treating others as you would have them treat you.

 

Kung Fu Team Classes Program:

Every Monday:

First hour: Warm ups + Combat Kicks

Second hour : Black belt forms + Defense

Every Thursday:

First hour: Warm ups + WuShu Kicks + WuShu Jumps + Specific techniques in ground tumbling boxing, falls, rolls, throws and aerial acrobatics.

Second hour: Black belt forms + WuShu form or Sparring form

Every Saturday:

First hour: Warm ups + WuShu Kicks + WuShu Jumps + Specific techniques in ground tumbling boxing, falls, rolls, throws and aerial acrobatics.

Second hour: Black belt forms + WuShu form or Sparring form

 

2012 -2013: The Teaching Goal for Kung Fu Team:

  1. All of members finish the form of basic skills.
  2. All of members promote three+ level.
  3. All of members finish a Barehanded sparring form.

Note: Class program is subject to change according to the needs of the competition or performance program. Also, Learning progress depends on the students demonstrating mastery of objectives for Kung Fu skills.

Class Date & Time:

3 days per week, 2hr sessions

  • Monday, Thursday, Saturday 4:30pm – 6:30pm

1 full year program, 282 hours of instruction

  • First class: Sat, Oct 1st, 2012 through Sun, Sept 30th, 2013
