Belt Testing On Sunday, January 27, 2013

Please See the list of the students testing on our notice board at Pure ShaoLin Kung Fu.

Belt Testing Time

January 27th 2013, On Sunday At 3:00-4:30pm.

It’s Belt Testing Time

This means that you are on center stage and you have the opportunity to show what you have spent months learning. Visualize your perfect form, strong stance, crisp kicks, graceful movements and awesome self-defense techniques.

We have high expectations of our students and only promote them to higher belt ranks when they have mastered the content necessary of the applicable belt and are ready to advance. This instills a sense of accomplishment when belts are earned.

The Martial Arts Ranking System Builds Confidence.

Each time you take the belt test, you demonstrate that you understand and can execute the required minimum basics to meet your new belt level.

Each time you test, you reaffirm your past knowledge and display your rrecently acquired knowledge and skills. At the end of the test… celebrate! It builds your confidence and self esteem and you deserve it. Display your new knowledge, build upon your confidence level, one step or one rank at a time.

How can I pass my belt testing?

Every level has a different goal and focus, you must demonstrate understanding of the applicable form and its relationship to self defense. We have high expectations for our students and will only promote a student when he or she has demonstrated sufficient proficiency in five categories:

Traditional Forms

Defense

Strength

Basic Skills

Discipline

Before Testing for a Color Belt

Make sure you have mastered all substantive requirements for your belt level.

Wait for instructor approval to pre-test.

Submit your pre-test application to the front office.

Upon approval, the instructor will schedule a test date.

Pay test fee to the front office before belt testing.

Confirm promotion test date, time and place.

Wear a clean uniform (including your belt) for your testing.

Be prompt to the test. You will NOT be allowed to test if you are late.

Dear Parents, Friends, and our greater PSLKF Community,

A new classes schedule will go into effect on Tuesday, October 2, 2012.

The new schedule includes:

* Add one 2-hour Kung Fu Team classes on Thursday 5:30pm-7:30pm.

* Tai Chi Classes will be on Thursdays 7:30 to 8:20pm and Saturdays/Sundays 9:00 to 9:50am .

* The new schedule divides the belt levels into basic (white to yellow), intermediate (yellow black to green black) and advanced classes (purple belt up). Please attend only your belt level classes.

In the last year, our school has seen the rapid growth of many students as well as their continued development in Kung Fu and Taichi. In recognition of these changes, we have updated our schedule to absorb our growth and to serve those students progressing naturally through our belt system.

We performed our best to strike the right balance from the existing schedule and we thank you for transitioning with us to our new classes.

All change take effect Tuesday, October 2, 2012. Please plan accordingly.
Thank you!

Shifu: Grace

TaiChi softball (also know as Tai Chi Tennis) is a new sport and wellness tool which unifies the modern game of Tennis with the ancient Chinese tradition of Tai Chi.

It combines the tennis skill of “feel for the ball” on the racket with the flowing and fluid motions of Tai Chi…and it is not limited to the arms and hands but requires using the body’s waist, legs and core.

The grace and movement of Tai Chi matched to the skill and subtlety of “feel for the ball” can take both art forms – Tennis and Tai Chi – to a new level of fluidity, balance and beauty…

TaiChi Softball like Yoga you’ll be able to get fun and enjoyment out of group or family exercise. With just a ball and racket the sport is extremely easy to learn and all of the benefits make it more than just a game. Combine body, mind and spirit in one harmonious activity with Tai Chi Softball.
